QUALITY DESIGN,
MADE TO LAST

Here at Daniel Wellington, our purpose is to create sustainable, quality accessories that stand the test of time. We have strong goals and high ambitions – build a sustainable future for the brand whilst growing responsibly and collaborating with our partners to generate a positive impact on society.

Since our founding in 2011 we have taken significant steps to understand our social and environmental impacts. Our sustainability strategy covers four long-term goals, where we believe we can make the greatest contributions. These goals are very ambitious, but we believe it’s the only way to achieve the change needed to take us where we want to be in 2030.

RESPONSIBLE MATERIALS

OUR AMBITION 2030

To offer the best quality-price ratio in the industry and support our consumers to prolong the product-life.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE SO FAR

• We are working hard to reduce the impact from all the materials used in our products. Some actions include:

• We aim to use FSC certified paper & board for all our gift boxes (FSC license code FSC-N003311).

• Using certified tanners (lower environmental impact compared to traditional tanneries) from the Leather Working Group for all leather products.

• Since April 2020, all our NATO straps are produced using recycled polyester. Recycled fibers require less energy in production but meet the same strict quality standards.

• A process that ensures the gold used in our products is sourced from conflict-free mines.

OUTSTANDING PRODUCTS

OUR AMBITION 2030

To offer the best quality-price ratio in the industry and support our consumers to prolong the product-life.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE SO FAR

We continue to design high-quality products with timeless style that our consumers can use for many years. Some actions include:

• All new products and materials go through a sustainability review to evaluate their safety and impact.

• We follow the strictest legislation in our markets (e.g. REACH, RoHS and Prop 65). During development and production, our products undergo extensive tests to ensure our quality and safety standards are met.

• We support customers with battery changes.

• We are working to make repair services easily available for all our customers. Since 2021, our repair solutions are available to 75% of our customers.

ENABLINGFAIR JOBS

OUR AMBITION 2030

To offer the best quality-price ratio in the industry and support our consumers to prolong the product-life.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE SO FAR

We work hard to be a responsible partner. Our few suppliers are selected carefully, and they are expected to live up to a fair job standard. Some actions include:

• We are members of SEDEX, one of the world’s leading platforms for companies to manage and improve working conditions in the supply chain.

• We have a five step Sustainability program in place to manage our supply chain risks. Our Supplier Code of Conduct is signed by all suppliers, and our Asian suppliers are audited on an annual basis. We are gradually increasing the number of audits further down the supply chain (at our suppliers’ suppliers).

• Since 2019, we have continuously educated factory workers on their rights and responsibilities. During 2020, more than 3,000 workers were trained.

Planet positive

OUR AMBITION 2030

Become climate neutral with a net positive environmental impact.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE SO FAR

We are working to reduce the environmental impact from our products and operations. Some actions include:

• We offset our carbon emissions in carefully selected Gold Standard projects.

• However, we will not call ourselves carbon neutral until we have managed to reduce our own absolute emissions significantly. So far, we have reduced them by more than 50% compared to 2017. Our goal is to reach 60% reduction in 2023 and at least 85% reduction in 2030 (compared to 2017).

• All the global electricity consumption in our DW offices, warehouses and retail stores comes from renewable sources like wind and solar power.

We are signatories of the UN Global Compact
